WSS takes home seven Addy Awards

AAF of East Central Indiana hosted another stellar ADDY Awards on February 29th. This year’s theme was “The Great Adsby,” and it was incredible to see everyone dressed in their best roaring 20’s attire. Our creative work was recognized in a variety of categories this year, from annual reports to videos. The competition was fierce, but WSS was able to take home seven awards – five silvers, a gold, and a best in show!
Best in Show Award AND Gold Award: Youth Opportunity Center Impact Video
This video was created to showcase the important work that the YOC does to help kids all across the state. The YOC helps children who have been through complex situations – from difficult home lives to intense trauma – and this video was developed to show that the YOC’s mission is about creating a better community and a better future for kids and families. WSS was proud to help creatively direct the video alongside the team at Tilt23 (previously the Story Shop) who brought the idea to life with their storytelling cinematography.
Silver Addy: Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County Annual Report
The Community Foundation has supported programs and projects across Muncie and Delaware County since 1985. In 2018, they hit a major milestone when their collective total of grants awarded hit more than $50 million. The design of the annual report celebrated this major “Milestone”, highlighting stories of how their financial support impacted people and organizations across the county, and outlining their goals for the future. The theme throughout the report showcased the Foundation’s milestones by featuring sections by colors, utilizing local photography, and focusing on the people who made those milestones possible.
Silver Addy: Muncie Habitat for Humanity Annual Report
Muncie Habitat for Humanity is a client we’ve been privileged to work with for many years now, and their organization has a distinct look and feel. So, when we were given the green light to really branch out and be experimental in our annual report concept for this year, we ran with it! We utilized specialty techniques such as a matte die cut cover and printed vellum, then paired that with text treatments and black and white photography to create a unique and BOLD look for an established part of the community.
Silver Addy: Youth Opportunity Center Stationery Package
WSS launched a refreshed corporate brand identity for the Youth Opportunity Center this last year that maintained a connection to their roots but incorporated vibrant new colors and an updated look. This new personality demonstrates the energy, vitality, and hope that their team brings to their work with children and families across Indiana. The brand refresh also allows the YOC to present itself with a rejuvenated, powerful, and exciting voice. The refresh has been incorporated into all aspects of their organization from business cards and stationery all the way through on-campus signage, apparel and digital media.
Silver Addy: Property Pros logo
A new client to the WSS roster in 2019 was Property Pros Maintenance and Construction. To jumpstart their company, we created a logo that portrays confidence and strength within the residential property construction arena. The color scheme stands out in the local market and the continuous line creating the “P” in the logo signifies a smooth transition from the beginning to the end of a construction project. Watch out for Property Pros to do big things in the Muncie community!
Silver Addy: WSS Holiday Card
Holiday cards are a great place to have a little extra fun. This year’s design featured a unique hand-illustrated design as a play on the popular “Where’s Waldo” books. Every inch of the front of the card was drawn by hand and brought to life by our creative director, Lucas Tetrault, who had a vision for an interactive design that colleagues, clients and friends could enjoy and experience together in the whirlwind of the holiday season.
